Some of the more frequent questions that you may want to read about;

Q.  Would I be asked to leave if one day I needed nursing care ?

A.  It entirely depends on the severity of the nursing care you need. Very few of our residents have ever reached the stage beyond our abilities to care for them.

 

Q.  What happens if my circumstances change and I can’t afford the fees ?

A.  If after some time this should become an issue we will help you to speak to the necessary authorities to request the funding you need to enable you to stay.

 

Q.  I’m diabetic and therefore my diet needs to be managed, is this a problem for you ?

A.  This situation is not uncommon and due to our preparing all our food on the premises we are able to tailor to any special dietary needs.

 

Q.  If I need assistance in the night, will someone be there to help me ?

A.  We care for your needs 24 hours a day 7 days a week with 2 night care staff that are awake throughout the night, every night.

 

Q.  When we visit mum in her current home we feel awkward and a bit of a burden on the staff ?

A.   At Sundial Lodge, all residents have a spacious private apartment that can easily accomodate friends and family visits. They can even make you a cup of tea or a light snack in their own kitchen. Unlike many homes we love to see grandchildren enjoying the garden and hearing their laughter.

 

Q.  In homes we’ve seen it appears the lounge is full of people with an inability to have a decent conversation. What is it like here ?

A.  Due to the nature of Sundial Lodge we attract more able bodied and minded people. This means that they are generally inclined to seek conversation and companionship with each other.

 

Q.  Do you allow pets ?

A.  A number of residents have various caged birds and fish tanks. Unfortunately however, we do not allow cats and dogs.

 

Q.  Will the fees go up if I need more care ?

A.   No. Our fees are fully inclusive no matter how much care you require. We only increase our fees annually in relation to the increase in our costs.
